Why don’t Trade Unions understand that they do not help any unemployed people by imposing minimum wages. The only effect they have is to keep out a number of people. Why? These people could be members of the unions and pay the monthly fee. But no. The unions say that the only effect should be to reduce the wages for all those alreday employed. Are really the unions lacking confidence in maintaining the levels they have reached so far? And what means do they have to defend the levels already reached. Having the right to strike then the only means the unions can see is the coercion.
Isn’t it a pity that our trade unions must use coercion to make others understand their claims? Isn’t it a pity tha the trade unions do not understand other people’s problems?
